Lesson 106: Manipulating Opponents

Positioning is critical to any strategy. Our ability to move people, both our supporters and our opponents, is fundamental positioning. Our position creates incentives for others to join us, oppose us, or stay away from us. This ability comes from our understanding of human needs. We do not get our ability to move people from our strength; we leverage the weakness of others to move them. If we push people, they will naturally just push back. We want to pull rather than push others. We want to attract people to support us and lure our opponents into weak positions. Our strength comes from our ability to gain supporters and move opponents into relatively weaker positions.
