Today, virtually anything today that promotes American values is tagged as "propaganda." If you look at these posters from WWI and WWII, you will see the values that America once publically promoted. These values allowed it to grow into the strongest, freest, and most productive country on earth.
Today, the government promotion of any program (other than access to some form of welfare) is automatically identified as "propaganda."
The greatest shortcoming of our generation has been our unwillingness to let our government promote the values that our forefathers fought and died for. Since a shared philosophy is the foundation of any strategic position, we have been neglecting our foundation. As the mainstream media began to attack those values, it was the government's duty (based upon their swearing to uphold the constitution) to spend taxpayer money to reaffirm those values.
This failure has created vast number of Americans think that America (American business, the American military, and the values of the majority of Americans) is the problem with the world instead of the solution to the problems of the world. Many of these people believe this for no better reason than it is all they have heard their whole lives from their kindergarten teacher to the voice on tonight's evening news. As sources of information, these groups offer have an elitist view that, by necessity must denigrate traditional American values. Unfortunately, these are the same voices that are working to silence any official voices speaking up for our traditions.
